Forrestfield united v Quinn’s fc U18s
Our first game away from home against a strong NPL side, Quinns started really quick putting the home side under pressure from the KO .
We could have been 3 up in the first 10 mins on another day, However we went 1 up in half an hour of play, then we had a water break , the next 15 mins was chalk and cheese as Forrestfield penned us back and got their rewards from some indecisive play by Quinn’s not pressing the ball and leaving jobs for someone else.
This was our undoing as the home side scored 2 quick goals to lead at half time 2-1. Some straight talk at half time saw us revitalised and take the game to Forrestfield, we levelled the score with some very good play which was commended by their coaching staff. 2-2. We should have took all 3 points but didn’t find the net again, so it ended 2-2.
Forrestfields coach couldn’t sing our praises high enough for our approach to the game and the way we played, always good to hear.
So back to training to work on our game, it will be different next time.
Well done to the U16s who stepped up and well done to the U18s who stepped up to play Reserves

A mid 20 degree day, just right to play football, Quinns U18 played Ashfield U18 at Riverlinks park.
Quinn’s looked to put their hard work at training into good use on the pitch.
The first half was a good solid battle with both sides having chances but we went into the break 0-0.
Quinn’s coaches asked our boys to move the ball quicker but not force the play, keep possession and draw the opponents in then exploit the space in behind , well the second half was a joy to watch as we keep possession really well and played some lovely stuff through the thirds.
We got our rewards from a nice goal by Matt Corrigan to put us 1 up, then a cheeky header from Jordan Rowe to make it 2-0, it was pretty much one way traffic from then on. We didn’t find the net again but played some really nice football, credit to all the boys for their hard work at training. You can see the system and style of play really coming together.
Well done lads, let’s take it to the next level now
